Even 26-year-old world-famous models need some help: Ambrosio begins the 2-hour hair and makeup process.

Hair extensions in place, Ambrosio checks the messages on her Web site, alessandraambrosio.com, which gets 250,000 hits a month. "Ale," as she's known to her friends, likes to personally answer her fans, many of whom are young aspiring models. Ambrosio started her career at 15. By 23, she had a multi-year, multimillion dollar Victoria's Secret contract: "It's what every model wants."

 

 

Ambrosio poses on set. It takes a crew of about 15 to make everything work: photographer, stylist, hair person, makeup person, stagehand, etc.
